Chicago River Boat Rental Description

Leave the khakis and rompers at home. Violet looks like she was ripped straight from a James Bond film. Dress to the nines when you are boarding this sophisticated cruiser.  If you like things the old fashioned way, Violet is for you. See Chicago and her architecture like never before on this 17-foot Bellboy Express. Violet was forged in 1958 in Bellingham, Washington.  Since then she has be reconditioned and fitted with an electric motor to bring her into the twenty-first century. Violet comfortably seats four. Round up the usual suspects and enjoy the Chicago River.

All rides depart from our headquarters underneath Marina City. We are located at 300 N State, Chicago, Il, 60654. Please remember that your reservation time is a departure time. You will need to arrive at least 30 minutes early in order to leave the dock on time.

Weather Policy

Chicago Retro Boats operates rain or shine! If the weather is deemed as too severe by our Retro Boat staff, a ride will be rescheduled and you will be contacted immediately. If we do not contact you, that means all rentals for the day will be going out as scheduled.

Boat Rental Cancellation Policy

There is a strict 72-hour cancellation policy. Any and all cancellations must be made prior to 72 hours of your scheduled departure time via email to [email protected]. We understand that it is not fun to be boating in the rain and will allow a raincheck for inclement weather. We will also allow you to substitute one of our fully enclosed Duffy Electric Boats during inclement weather, upon availability.
